How does Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ work?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule that has a unique ability to bind water, keeping your body tissues soft, hydrated and flexible. Natural hyaluronic acid in the body quickly forms and degrades (in 24-48 hours), diminishing the skin’s hydration.²³

Your Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ treatment regimen

After consulting with your aesthetic practitioner, you will start with 1-3 treatment sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Treatments require minimal downtime, and you’ll be enjoying your refreshed, natural glow almost immediately.^21,22

After treatment, you may notice some slight redness, swelling, itching or tenderness at the injection site, but these reactions are generally mild to moderate and get better within a few days. After these initial treatments, a maintenance treatment is recommended every 6-12 months to ensure lasting results.^20-22

What should I think about when choosing a clinic?

Make sure that you contact a clinic with qualified practitioners to ensure that your treatment will be performed correctly. Your treatment should be performed in a medical environment that provides privacy and is spotlessly clean. You can always request to see training certificates and insurance certificates to ensure that your healthcare practitioner has received the appropriate training and is insured for the treatment.

Only medically qualified practitioners should perform treatments with Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™. Depending on the legislation in your country, this may include plastic surgeons, cosmetic clinicians, dermatologists, cosmetic dentists, or aesthetic nurses. How should I prepare before my consultation?

You will always have a consultation before your first treatment. Think through what you want to achieve and the questions you may have. Your healthcare practitioner will inform you how Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ can be used safely to improve skin quality and give you healthy, glowing skin. When you leave your consultation, you should feel well-informed about Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ and know what results to expect.

What should I expect from my chosen healthcare practitioner?

Your healthcare practitioner should provide you with comprehensive information and give you a detailed explanation regarding your treatment.

Who should not have a treatment with Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™?

Patients with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid based products should not undergo treatment, nor should patients with bleeding disorders, or active skin disease such as inflammation, infection or tumors in or near the area be treated. Discuss side effects, warnings, and precautions with your healthcare practitioner before treatment with Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™.

If you have skin laxity and sagging, combination treatment with Sculptra could be beneficial for you. Please ask your healthcare practitioner what treatment will give you the best results.

Please note that Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ is recommended for people who are 18 years or older.

Is Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ safe during pregnancy or after birth?

Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ has not been tested for pregnant women. There is also no data available on Restylane^® and breastfeeding.

How is Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ administered?

Your healthcare practitioner will disinfect the area that will be treated. Tiny droplets of hyaluronic acid will then be injected just below the skin surface through a fine needle to enhance your skin quality. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, will take away most of the discomfort that you may experience during the treatment.

Does Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ hurt?

Some people may experience mild discomfort. Most Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ products contain a local anesthetic, lidocaine, to make your treatment experience more comfortable. You and your healthcare practitioner may decide whether additional pain relief is needed.

How long does a treatment with Restylane^® SKINBOOSTERS™ take?

Depending on the area, a treatment takes approximately 15-45 minutes. After treatment you will receive post-treatment guidelines from your healthcare practitioner.

Should I expect side effects after treatment?

It is normal to experience some discomfort, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the treatment site. These side effects generally disappear within one week after injection. Make sure that you discuss potential treatment risks with your healthcare practitioner.
